Out People of Color-PAC endorses Kurland over Quinn

The Out People of Color Political Action Club (OutPOCPAC), a New York City based non-partisan, political club of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgendered and two-spirit (LGBTTS) people of color, has endorsed challenger Yetta Kurland over incumbent City Council Speaker Christine Quinn in Manhattan's City Third Council District. The club held its endorsement meeting July 22nd.

Co-President Pauline Park explained, “Yetta Kurland has solid credentials and is the most progressive candidate in the race, while Speaker Quinn has failed to use the power of her office to push a progressive agenda that would benefit the LGBT community. She was the principal advocate in the Council for Mayor Bloomberg’s campaign to extend the term limits law.”

The Out People of Color Political Action Club was formed in 2001 and is committed to raising the awareness of elected officials and candidates for public office around issues of primary importance to lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgendered and two-spirit (LGBTTS) people of color and increasing the number of elected officials from that community.
